Jeroen Bleekemolen about defending the title of Dunlop 24H DUBAI

After a great victory during the Dunlop 24H DUBAI of this year I proudly announce that we will be back to defend our title next year. The team is already busy with preparations, to start the beginning of the race season as successful as this year.

The 24 hour race in Dubai already exists for a number of years and is becoming one of the classic 24 hour races. Every year there are more and more top teams at the start and the attention of the race is increasing. I have been to every edition of 24H DUBAI, except the first edition, and experience that each year the competition is stronger. In 2008 I scored 2nd place overall with my dad, brother and Jan Lammers racing in a Porsche Cup car. It would be a challenge to gain the same result again, because there are too many fast GT3 team's in this edition.

In 2013 I will drive with the same car as this year, the Mercedes SLS Black Falcon. My team mates are Khaled Al Qubaisi, Sean Edwards and Bernd Schneider. Bernd is new in our team and I am delighted that he joined us. He drove an impressive race this year on the cars that have become 2nd and 3rd. His share in the race for both cars was great. Sean Edwards and I were astonished. He managed to contain extremely fast until the last lap, despite the many hours that he had driven. I think we have got a good chance for overall victory, although we won’t underestimate the competition.

It is great fun to participate in this race and it is a perfect start of the year. January is always a busy month for me, with both the Dunlop 24 Hours of Dubai as Daytona. Just after New Year, before Dubai there is a test at Daytona. Therefore I have to travel directly from America to Dubai. Afterwards I have a break of a few days and I can go back to Daytona. Also Daytona is already planned. Hopefully I can start next season as successful as this year, the prospects are looking good!
